The word photography comes from the Greek, and literally means "writing with light". The photographer records what he sees using light as his paint; his ink. Light has its many moods, and its manifestations are what we struggle to capture. Even when we manage to capture it, we can manipulate it, modify it, in order to create a feeling, a perception... or we can leave it alone and let it speak to us as is. My time with the camera is my journey in writing with light, and the images remain long after the memories have faded and we are no more. |
